Boerenverstand (Horse Sense), Vechtstreek
Krijn Christiaansen and Cathelijne Montens
Commissioned by Landschap Erfgoed Utrecht, coordination: CBKU
During several months the occasional firm Hekwerk collected wood from and around the farms and houses in the Vechtstreek. All wood pieces were carefully photographed and documented and the stories about their origins were put in writing. After that 27 new gates were composed of this wood from and for the Vechtstreek. The gates have been coated with a black layer of polyurethane, which accents the silhouette in the landscape. The wood that was harvested at the participants, together forms a genuine collection of curiosities to be seen on the corresponding poster. This poster gives the new landgate owners insight in the origin of the parts of their gates.
